In an eariler note I mentioned that bringing a small AM/FM radio with you when travelling in Europe is a great idea. Now here's the correct frequency to get the BBC World Service from London: 648 kHz. This can be heard almost all over Europe, and they broadcast almost all day. News coverage is on the hour, with half-hour news reports at various times during the day. Reception is best after sundown. For more information on the world's radio and tv stations, look for the World Radio & TV Handbook, which is published every year by Billboard Mag. THe coverage is extensive. I have not yet been able to locate the '86 issue, which may not be ready yet. -- ...Richard Friedman [rchrd] Pacific-Sierra Research 2855 Telegraph #415, Berkeley CA 94705 (415) 540 5216 USENET: {lll-crg,ptsfa,hplabs}!well!rchrd
