I picked up the Tank combat game "Team Yankee" a few weeks ago and I'm
stuck in the second mission. The objective is to capture 2 areas, one after the
other and remove all Warsaw pact forces from the vicinity in the process, then
fight of a Warsaw pact counter attack. I can capture the 2 objectives without
any problems and kill all the Warsaw pact armor I can find. The problem is that
no counter attack is mounted against me. I've tried waiting for 40 minutes and
driving around looking for any forces I missed in my earlier attack, but
nothing happens. I assume that there is a squad of vehicles I've failed to
find, despite a lot of searching, which I have to defeat before the counter
attack is mounted.
Some general observations about the game. The graphics are very good,
all bitmapped rather than vector plotted by the looks. I like the way the
tanks ( you control a company of 16 assorted vehicles ) are controlled. My
only gripe is the limited scope of the game. It follows the storyline of
a book by the same name. You go through the game as a private and have to
win all the battles to be promoted, and have to do this 5 times to complete
the game, fighting the same battles over again at each level. The game blurb
promises that it gets harder at each level, but I can't get past the second
battle at the first level to find out 8(.
