Yes, though it's quite a bother.

Use Aztec db. Start it up, then start Moria. Look at your experience,
translate it into hex and search the memory for that hex string. If you
find it (be sure that it's not just the string that db stores for the search
operation! :-) change it to a really high value (not too high at a time
though). Then switch to Moria and press ^L for a screen redraw. Repeat as
needed. You should end up with a 50th level character that eats anything
in them dungeons for breakfast.

:Well, if you really want to cheat...
:
:Just make a copy of character save. That's it. If something happens to
:your character (killed, nuked by acid, etc.) just do something like:
:
:copy character.backup to character
:
:Then re-run the game and pick up where you left off.

Or if you *really* need to cheat, look at the saved game files for
interesting weapons of items. These are actually what's stored in the
levels, not on your person. (You're right in thinking the encrypted stuff
at the first is your personal stats and items.) Try things like dropping
one of an item in a place, and two next to it. Then look at the save file
to see where quantities are stored. You could also look through the executable
for interesting items you don't see just laying around. After hacking a
saved game, you can go back in and just pick up all the nice things that
are laying around. You could also look at attributes of things like potions
and scrolls. You may be able to merge several items together to create
new, more powerful items. (Potion of Raise Everything?)

Thanx to everybody that responded with possible ways
to cheat at MORIA 3.0. After experimenting, it seems
that the easiest way to create a pumped-up character
is to drop a weapon on the dungeon floor, and then save
the game. Then use a file editor program such as "NewZap"
to find where in the character save file the weapon is
that you dropped on the floor. When you find the record
that is the weapon's object structure in the binary save
file, change the amount of damage the weapon does. For example,
I had a character with a Longsword (+0,+0), and when I found
the structure for the weapon, I changed the amount of damage
it does from "1d10" to "44d100", then wrote the new, hacked
save file back out to disc.

Finally, when I re-started the saved games, the weapon
was still there on the floor, and I picked it up. When I
wielded the Longsword, I now had in my hands a SUPER WEAPON
that does incredible damage. Even with a SUPER WEAPON, your
character is still vulnerable though, as I later found out
when fighting multiple Ancient dragons!!!
