[comp.sys.amiga.games] Software Botique

IO92257@MAINE.BITNET (11/08/90)

I just found a Software Botique in our local mall (I am
in Bangor, Maine. Maine (the state) has TWO amiga dealers!)
Pitiful...but then Maine only has 1 million population!
I saw all this MS-D*S stuff and Nint*ndo garbage (but very
nicely packaged garbage!) out in the front of the store, and
on a whim I asked if they had any Amiga software. (on a whim,
because every other place I have been has had old or zero
amounts of Amiga software) Too my amazement, they did! In the
back of the store, near the A*pple II stuff. It was only games,
but they were NEW games...Beast II, Turrican, KGS, etc. and at
the same price or a couple bucks above mail order! I was, to
put it mildly, stunned! And the BEST thing was that they
had F-18 Interceptor for 14 bucks! Knowing what a great game it
is, I bought it, and have been shooting down cruise missiles.
It is far less complicated than Falcon, but FAR slicker! Fast
frame rates, nicely drawn objects, and big windscreens! It is
a classic! By the way, RawCopy will deprotect it...so you only
have to type 000 and not use the code wheel.
I asked them about Test Drive III for the Amiga (It was on display for
the I*M) and they said no date had been set for it's realease.

Seeing that Amiga-Generated artwork on the front of the Wing
Commander box with 'IBM screens shown' underneath REALLY
PIS*ED ME OFF!!!!! GRRRRR....
(Aw, heck, Interceptor's probably much more playable! ...and it
loads all into ram! :)
