I am enjoying the "Demo" version of TURRICAN that I downloaded from
abcfd20. However, I have run into some problems, and I would like to know if
they exist in the actual game.
(1) I was able to get my character into a position where he could
not move. Essentially, I moved around an object and wound up
BELOW it. No movement or jumping was possible; all I could do was
turn left and right. This felt like a bug to me. I had to reboot.
(2) Sometimes when the character dies, he is restored in mid-air.
In other words, the next round begins with the character not on
stable ground, and he falls and dies immediately. This continues
forever.... (well, you know).
I am able to get out of this loop by moving my joystick BEFORE
the next round loads, causing the character to fall in a DIFFERENT
direction, onto solid ground.
(3) When the character dies, the input buffer is not flushed, and some
joystick movements from the end of the PREVIOUS round occur at the
beginning of the NEXT round.
Fun game, though! I think I'll buy the full version.
