Has anyone else got this game? I have played it very little. It seems that it must have some weird copy protection because it boots once in every 3 times. The other 2 times the screen goes all weird (lines and stuff) and then the speaker makes some buzzing noise and then both drives begin alternating on/off with the motors. sorda like "df0: df1: df0: df1: df0:" etc. Really fast! At this point I shut the damn thing off and go watch TV cause software that does that to my system just doesn't excite me. (Are you listening Psygnosis? probably not- but its no surprise) Its hard drive installable (or so it says) so if indeed it has protection, installing it on the hard drive removes it. And if it doesn't, I can only say that there must be some poor programmers to screw up their own program then release it. If anyone is interested in this game, I may let it go for about 25$ after I see if the Hard Drive instalation fixes my problems. It runs, but you must reboot kickstart (or in the 500's case turn the machine off then back on) to get it to load. And then it won't always load. I had it Guru on an amiga 500 after I let it sit idle for about 10 minutes. Sucks eh? And the game isn't that good. Its an icon type adventure, with your choices limited by a number of icons in each room. You have no really nice decision controlling capabilities. I payed 45$ for it! eek! On a happier note, I have found someone who has Zork Zero and bought it. Wonderful game! I can't express how pleased I am with it. All infocom games seem to be hard drive installable, and only have manual information protection at best. Consider this a plea for Activision (they bought out infocom right?) to start up infocom again and produce some adventures of this calibre! The mapping is great! It has nice fonts! And the playability is awesome with the exception of a few pauses when searching the object database (mainly on doors). What is really really nice is it has invisiclues built in.
