[comp.sys.amiga.games] Epyx joysticks!

zerkle@iris.ucdavis.edu (Dan Zerkle) (12/15/90)

Some of you awhile back may remember that I posted a plea for anyone
knowing where to find Epyx joysticks. The kid brothers could really
use them, and probably couldn't break them.

Welp, y'all were no hep whatsaever. I think ONE of you recommended
another model.

So.... I called every freakin mail order company in the book. One told
me that they had them, but they were "back ordered." Backordered my
foot! They don't make them any more. One told me they had them, for
a little more then $12. I got all the way through an order and
double-checked "Are you sure they're in stock?" "Yeah, I'm sure."
"Are you sure they're the digital ones, not the analog ones?" "Huh?"
"Just make sure they don't work with the IBM PC." "Um, it says here
they're PC compatible." "Do you have the digital ones?" "What kind
of computer do you mean?" "Just cancel the order, ok?"

So, I looked in the phone book.... I finally called a store about 15
miles away. They had two left. I told the guy to put them under the
counter. Today, I bought them. Kids just don't understand what Santa
has to go through. On the other hand, I found them at an Atari ST
store. Who says Ataris aren't good for anything?

Now, just don't go asking me where I got them. I got the last two.
I sincerely believe that there are no more left for sale anywhere in the
world.

Peace and love and I got mine.

Buy The Sega Genesis model of the Epyx Stick. It has a rapid fire switch ,
two buttons, and is completely compatible with the amiga. They are
very easy to find. I got mine at the local Toys R Us.
