ABC Monday Night Football.....my first thoughts. I purchased this package for $39 at the local Amiga dealership. This package contains the software and a video tape (I have not looked at the video tape yet). The software is done by Data East. The game is installable on the hard disk and does _not_ kick out the operating system. It does not appear to multitask however. The software comes on three disks and the hard disk installation went without a hitch. I started the game and was pleasantly surprised with the startup graphics. The sound was digitized and was monotone. I believe the quality could have been much better, but I bet the memory constrants caused by the 512k users were probablly considered. Too bad! The football game itself is pretty good. There are no crowd noises but you can hear a scratchy digitized sound of the quarterback calling out. The play feels ok, but it seems a bit difficult to orient yourself when the quarterback is surveying the recievers. I was surprised that the you had to still look at your defense from the offensive perspective. I would have liked the view to change depending on whether I am the offense or the defense. In a brief, it seems like a "ok" program. If you are football addict you will like it enough to want to purchase it. It certainly is a _great_ value if you have a VCR! :-) -mark= +--------+ ================================================== | \/ | Mark D. For the most time I like this game as well, however, I have allready found two mini bugs and the company (at least who they let me talk too :-) ) doesn't seem to have a clue: The game is HD installable and very enjoyable from a HD, it also kicks you back to the CLI or WB when you quit, so although it is not multi-tasking it is still one of the friendlier games to AmigaDos. However, if you install it on your HD, it gives you an ICON for the game. If you run the game from the ICON, it will LOCK-UP when you (not the computer) tries to kick a field goal or extra point. The game must be run from the CLI, as it is done on their distribution disk. To their defense the manual says this, but putting an icon their is pretty misleading. Couldn't they use ICONX or something? The ICON problem is not related to a stack problem, since the ICON is set for a bigger stack than the cli has in their distribution disk. Also, and more or a bug. If you are playing two player, the player in joystick B, automatically swtiches to the HalfBack view, imediately after snaping the BALL, unless you allways plan to pass to your HB, this is a problem. I have reporduced the problem on many machines, and DataEast hasn't gotten back to me.... -Jason- UUCP: {hplabs!hp-sdd ucsd nosc}!crash!pnet01!jason ARPA: crash!pnet01!jason@nosc.mil INET: jason@pnet01.cts.com
