[comp.sys.amiga.games] Two questions about DMII

A_ASENCIO@UPR1.UPR.CUN.EDU (Hard Bytes Amiga User Group) (12/30/90)

Hi Champions:

So, here we are again trying to help our friend Lord Grey.

That task would be a little easier if:

a) Could someone tell me how managed to kill the Knights without using the
pits?

b) Post again how to get the Firestaff? (or Powerstaff, don't remember)

thanks for your help,
Angel//

Well, I used good ol' fashion hack-and-slash and many a poison cloud.
Of course, I was using some cheat characters (all Archmasters in all classes
and 999 stamina, health, mana, and 208 on all the stats...)

I'm using the industrial strength characters also; I don't think I
could survive otherwise. I agree the knights are TOUGH! Only once was I able
to use a pit against them; it was at the top of a staircase where the pit was
between them and me. I kept hitting them with magic.....I used a lot of DES EW
and FUL IR spells. I am not sure how much good the DES EW does; it did
provide me with psychological satisfaction. :-)

The rest of the time, I used lightening bolts and my special weapons. The
poison clouds didn't seem to be of much value.

Best way is to fill all flasks with potions of increase strenght and increase
dexterity, sleep to regain mana if you can, and during battle have the back
row with flasks in hands, just refueling the front row with VI potions
(do not spend mana to cast offensive spells).

If a first row char become low on HP, trade it quickly with a back row char,
he will take hits the time for other char to quaff safely potion, and it will
increase its experience...

To Kill Knights, with regular chars, you should first get 2 great weapons,
like a dragon (fang?), which is a type of sword, and an executioner, which
is an axe (use the freeze time boxes to get it out of the room with knights
in it), then juice up your expert or master fighters on strength potions
(steroids I guess). This is by far the most effective means to kil them.
Also try and hack then run backwards before they retaliate, they will
follow you blindly.

note: the armor they wear is cursed, so are the weapons they use so leave
their belongings alone.

Also, keep your players stationary and get the back row players to cast
poison clouds on the Knights would speed up the kill.
