Could someone kindly mail me a summary of the problems with "Ultima V"? Being on vacation and having my site go down when I returned caused me to miss a couple hundred articles. I got the game (along with "Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday") as a gift over the holidays. Since I have been having a ton of troubles with the Buck Rogers game (see previous post) and remembering the nasty things that were starting to appear on the net about "Ultima V" (right when I left), I have been afraid to even open the shrinkwrap on the box. Any help would be appreaciated. I may be able to return the game if it is indeed a lemon and I do not open the package (although the dealer is about 150 miles away). BTW I have an Amiga 3000. Thanks. -- -- Steve Croll (internet: scroll@reef.cis.ufl.edu home: 904-373-8389)

From: fhwri%CONNCOLL.BITNET@cunyvm.cuny.edu I work in an Amiga store. The week that ULTIMA V came out, a kid came in with a problem; the program saves the game to the copy-protected disk that you boot with! He tried to save a game and got a disk error. We managed to make him a copy using the OmniTool in Project D, and he went home happy, but I have a SEVERE prejudice against games that save to a copy-protected disk. I know that U V is a fab game, but if I were to buy it, I certainly would play ONLY from a backup. WHEN will they learn?????? Hmmmph. --Rick Wrigley fhwri@conncoll.bitnet
