The one that particurarily peeved me was Harpoon from Three-Sixty. On the
box, it prints that it is A3000 compatible. However, they failed to
mention that this is UNDER 1.3 ONLY. Given that 2.0 is the machine's
native mode, I don't count this as working on the A3000. And at the very
least they should have said it only works under 1.3.

And when I called them, the guy I talked to was entirely all to unhelpful
and rude. Asked me `why should you care, you've got 1.3, right?'. Give me
a break.

The game is so much of an IBM port its no wonder it doesn't work under 2.0
(it also crashes under 1.3 almost instantly if you use any mouse toys,
too). The don't use intuition save to open the screen and a single window.
All the windows, gadget hits, etc, in that game are all their own code.
Instead of really porting the game and using intuition, the just copied the
code from the IBM version (where, admitable, you do have to reinvent the
wheel).

Someone told me he talked to the programmer that did the Amiga port and his
impression was that the guy didn't know much about Harpoon OR the Amiga.

Too bad, as its a really cool game. Despite my distaste for having to
reboot under 1.3, I kept the game. Even bought the second battleset for
it. But only end up playing it once every couple of weeks. Here's hoping
Three-Sixty will get smart and fix it. Yeah, right.
