**** **** From the keys of Steve Henning, AT&T Bell Labs, Reading, PA mhuxl!smh > EPCOT is another "theme park" where you pay to get in > and then you are gee-whizzed by all the nifty exhibits > and decorations. There is nothing "Experimental" about > EPCOT. EPCOT is not a "Prototype" and it is not a > "Community." No one lives at EPCOT. EPCOT has 2 parts, Future World & World Showcase. Obviously, the latter is not a prototype of tomorrow. However, Future World has experimental computerized energy management systems, communications systems, reservations systems, transportation systems, and crowd management. The Kraft exhibit has many experimental prototype food systems which presumably will be used in the future, but not tomorrow. Most of the architecture is very innovative and being unique is a prototype. They feature video newspapers which are certainly prototypes. They have lots of experimental junk entertainment for the kiddies, but if you are interested in the serious aspects, you can live in this experimental prototype resort of tomorrow. EPROT!!
