I am near the end of Might and Magic II, but how can I figure out how
to decode the green and red msgs I have. I found hints saying that
the green msgs are decoded One Letter After Another 2-1-3-4
and the red msgs are decoded One Letter, then 2, and finally 3
letters repeat. Use this order 8-5-2-6-1-3-9-7-4
This does not make sense to me, how do I use this info to decipher
the 9 red msgs and the 4 green msgs I have collected?
I made it to the end of the maze in the square lake dungeon and
it asked me to type a word, and I did not know what to type, I
assume these messages will help me.
Am I off base?

To decipher the messages you first need to make sure you have written them all down letter perfect, including all the blank spaces. For the Green Messages, using the code 2-1-3-4, first write down the first letter of the 2nd message, then write down the letter of the 1st message, then write down the letter of the 3rd message, and finally the letter of the 4th message. Then continue deciphering it by writing down the second letter of the 2nd message, the second letter of the 1st message, the second letter of the 3rd message.... Be sure to treat all the blanks and punctuation marks as individual letters or you will get out of sync. After you've gone through all the messages what you have written down will be (hopefully) the deciphered message. It's a little more difficult with the Red Messages. Write down in the proper order the first letter of all the 9 messages. Then write down the next *2* letters of all the 9 messages (i.e., the 2nd & 3rd letters of message 8, then the 2nd & 3rd letters of message 5, then the 2nd & 3rd letters of message 2, etc.); then (following all this? :)) write down the next *3* letters from each of the 9 messages in the proper order.
