With all this renewed interest in Ralph Reed's MECHFORCE, I've decided to try to put together an archive of mechs from all you designers out there in NetLand. I've had a couple of people send me their mechs and I've gathered up all the mechs from Ralph's BattleForce and MechForce releases. So far (not including the ones you get with the game) I have 20 mechs from three different designers. If you include the default mechs there are over 200. I know there must be hundreds of unique mechs out there just waiting to be tested against the world. Take a minute and send me your mechs. If you like you can include a brief history of the mech and the various design stages that its gone through. Since the mech files themselves are small (904 bytes) and lharc gives about 70% compression on each file, we could get over 3,100 mechs on one 880K floppy disk. When I get a fair number of mechs, I'll deposit the archive on one or more of the amiga ftp sites (ab20 for example). If anyone is a member of the Hobbit Hole BBS and has downloaded the mechs that are available there, please send them to me or give me your address and I'll send you a disk and money for the return shipping. If you're like me, MechForce has lost some of its luster since I know how to defeat any mech I run up against because I know their weaknesses by heart. Having hundreds or thousands of new mechs would certainly spice up the game for me. I look forward to seeing all the new mechs. --Paul Hinker [hinker@acl.lanl.gov] -- Paul Hinker hinker@acl.lanl.gov /// If it works, it's not state-of-the-art MS B287 505-665-4531 /// --Hansen's Law Los Alamos National Labs ACL \\\/// All our stuff is broke Los Alamos, NM 87545 \XX/ --Forslund's Corollary
