[comp.sys.amiga.games] WINGS advise

I'm surprised that people find Wings all that hard to play. I've had 235
missions with some 280 kills and have been shot down only about 10 times.
The trick to getting the bad guys is to pretty much shoot all the time
(you never run out of ammo). I usually i'm always trying to follow the planes
and, yes, they're always moving out of position but eventually you hit them
enough to shoot them down. The best way to actually score is to 'pull lead' on
them by shooting just a bit ahead of where the plane actually is to allow the
bullets time to get there. Also, when you hit a plane it'll go down to evade
further fire if you're over it, it seems to always go not only down but changes
direction as well. however, they're still not too hard to catch up to. If you
are firing from below the plane goes up and is much harder to keep in the
crosshairs because you easily stall. On a couple of missions it has starngely
happened that an enemy plane going down in flames has mysteriously recovered
and comes back to shoot at you. If things are going tough you can sort of
evade further damage by climbing up high above the rest and let your wingmen
take care of the bad guys (assuming they haven't benn shot down of course)
This is also useful for balloon busting missions because if you're flying
low the AA fire has a much better chance of hitting you. Finally, the bad
planes always do damage in a very predictable manner; hitting your left wing
first, then right, then your right gun (a real bummer), your lower right wing
and if he scores another hit you usually go down.
