OK - I'll give it another shot....first of all, I made an error....if you are standing in the 3-button alcove, looking OUT into the room, then WEST would be to your RIGHT, so proceed WEST as far as you can until you see a pressure plate to the WEST with a pit a space over from it (i can't remember exactly...it'll be whatever one would be stopping you from going any farther through the false wall) Watch to see which pit closes. This should allow you to proceed into the false wall which is, as you stand one square OUT of the alcove (still facing INTO the room) move 3 squares to the west (NOT including the one upon which you are standing) and the false wall will be DIRECTLY to your NORTH. I've only been through this game twice, I'll maybe start again, because I know there'll be lots of questions. I HOPE that helps you, Sean, I know it may sound complicated, but if you close the pit first thing, then you'll be able to proceed. I think I have a problem. When I stand in the three-button alcove, my compass says that WEST is to my left.......
