So here I am, thinking surely I am the most powerful being on the planet... I have lots of neat stuff including the firestaff and the power gem... but I still get my ass summarily kicked by the dark lord every time I go near him! I've even spent a lot of time hiding in the little room in the corner of Level 13, blasting him with the firestaff and fireballs and lightning bolts, and shutting the door whenever he tries to fight back... but in the end, I run out of hit points or potions or mana or whatever before he blinks in and trounces me. The only useful thing I have noticed is he doesn't like it when I do FUSE to his face (blinks off somewhere) and as far as I can tell a FLUXCAGE is completely useless except for hindering my vision. So a couple questions... 1 (unrelated) can you open more than one of the blue doors on Level 7? I only found 1 key and there wasn't another one in the door I opened. Just greedy for more cool stuff to kill dark lords with... And two, HOW DO I KILL THIS (*&#(*&$)!%&^#@_)!@ MENACE? Oh, and three... when I finish this, anyone have a DM II they'd like to sell me? -- James A. RE: CONQUERING LORD CHAOS.....OK - ONE: You need to be FAST! And TWO: You gotta be sneaky! The best plan, so you don't get confused, is to get into the little 2-door corner room. Once in there, leave one of the doors open. CHAOS will appear and come in the door you left open. Stand a bit to one side, and let him go pat you till he's in the innermost corner. NOW: start FLUXCAGING all around him! Do the areas by the door, and then step into the area you just FLUXED from and FLUXCAGE that too! When you've FLUXCAGED all around him, very quickly use the FUSE option to seal the FLUXCAGES! If you're successful, you'll soon know! It takes a bit of practice, and you have to be quick or he just warps outa there! If he goes, he'll be back! Just repeat, making sure your man w/the FIRESTAFF has lotsa healing potions!
