I am posting this since I'm not sure how to get mail to the person who asked. There are two longer distance old train rides here in Colorado. One goes from Durango to Silverton and is a round trip in one day. I have been on this one and it is great. The other runs from Antonito, Colorado to Chama, New Mexico. It is one way in one day with a bus ride back. Friends have been on it and say its ok. There are others around the country I'm not as familiar with. I think there is one near Fort Bragg, California and some friends went on a scenic train ride of some sort near Conway, New Hampshire. Kevin McGregor
