I assume this means you've not done dungeon master 1 ? If this is true
then why not. Anyway you need to make KU potions. A Ku potion
increases strenght and carrying ability. The spell requires a flask
  and goes as follows

strength bit then FUL, BRO then KU

  ok ?

I always feed my guys up with strength potions, especially my front two
big guys who do the biffing, keeping them at 100% than normal strength also
improves the damage inflicted on baddies

As far as the esoteric suits of armor goes, my party of four ladies weren't
strong enough to use much of it... they'd find something like a RA helmet,
look at it and say "how nice!", then use it to mark a deadend passageway
or put it near the edge of an "invisible pit" as a marker...

The weapons were nice to have, but in general they used the special items
that increased their abilities, and relied on moving fast to avoid taking
any damage.

In Dungeon Master, I used strength potions to increase the damage inflicted
on tough opponents, like the Knights, but in CSB there just aren't enough
flasks and mana available to do a whole lot of increasing attributes
with potions... especially when playing with only one Champion..!
