[comp.sys.amiga.games] FALCON FLIES on Amiga 3000

kurt@tc.fluke.COM (Kurt Guntheroth) (03/25/91)

I love Falcon; it's almost the only amiga game I play. Its rich simulation
and well-done programming really affect me. When I discovered that no
amount of software trickery would make it run on my nifty new A3000, I was
disappointed, to say the least. I even called up Spectrum Holobyte to whine.

AND THEY HAD A FIX. FALCON 1.2.

Yes, there is a Falcon 1.2 and it runs on the A3000 under 2.0 (although it
is advertised only for 1.3). Under 2.0 it gurus under certain abnormal
conditions (like if you pick the wrong codewheel letter) but hay.

Game runs completely (as far as my limited skill takes me), the graphics are
a little smoother, and the picture is certainly nicer on the 1950 monitor.

Best news, it only costs five bucks and your falcon disk I with its spectrum
holobyte label and serial number. It did take them four or five weeks to
send it out, but it's not doing me any good as it is.

So, all you registered owners. Time to upgrade.
