> I heard on the national news the other day that the entrance fees to >many of the national parks will be raised dramatically at the end of the >summer. (e.g., $2.00 -> $10.00) > Does anyone have a complete list of the old and new rates? (Or a list >for just the major parks?) I hadn't heard that news, but if you are planning to do much visiting of National Parks, it would be worthwhile to buy a Golden Eagle card. For $10 you get free admission to *all* NPS parks (i.e. National Parks and National Monuments) for the rest of the year - a bargain! Most 'major' parks now charge $3 per car for entrance. You can buy a Golden Eagle 'at the door' instead of this $3. There's probably a way to buy one buy mail, too - contact National Parks Service, Dept. of the Interior.
