No, we're talking about two different hallways here, Todd. The one you are referring to is the seemingly endless hall on the ARENA level with the GIGGLERS, MUMMIES and GHOSTS. You take 26 steps down this hall and stop, turn around, and the wall will be open. The hallway that Dan was referring to is up on Level 5. There is a section marked "STORE ROOMS" and you have to chop wooden doors - one on the right and one on the left.
