I was reading Amiga Action over lunch today, and saw the write up on PGA golf (its called something else in the UK). Well, it was rated as rather 'standard and bland'. Lo and behold, I get back to the store and what do I see in the shipment that came in during lunch? Glugerbuzzards from hell! nono, your right, PGA Golf!. Well, curiosity got me and I had to try it out. It took me all of 3 minutes to install it on the HD, another 30 seconds to run it up and find out that it multitasks just dandy, and another 10 minutes to decide that its the best golf game I've EVER played on any platform. While I was playing PGA, we had two other people playing Links golf on the IBM's (one 16mhz 286 and a 16 mhz 386sx). They had been oohing and aahing about the 256 Colour VGA graphics on those machines and I must say that I was impressed as well. But, after hearing the neato music and sound effects from PGA they craned thier necks around and a minute or two later migrated to the Amiga for a peeksee. Sure its not 256 colour graphics, but its also not the 30 second redraws for a single screen either :) In place of that PGA gives you a flying animated preview of the hole you are about to play (abortable of course) and near instant screen redraws. It didn't take long before links was left tweeting in the background and the three of us were bashing each other over the heads with PGA putters. If your local store has it in and you like golf, GET IT! --------------------------------------- | patrick_meloy@outbound.wimsey.bc.ca | | 'The Outbound' BBS Vancouver BC | ---------------------------------------
