Now that the baseball season is officially upon us, I would like to inquire into the merits of whatever baseball simulators are available for the amiga. What I am specifically looking for is a simulator that will allow me to create a mirror of the 1991 Major League rosters, and play a regulation season, playoff and World Series. Assuming I can find access to every players stats and (hopefully) can also keep track of every roster change (e.g., trade, injury status, etc.), I'd like to play a schedule identical to the 1991 season's, and see what happens. BTW, I own Earl Weaver and Hardball I, so I know what those two programs are capable of. If nothing else is superior, I will use Earl Weaver. But I so dislike EW's pitcher-batter interface (preferring Hardball I's) that I'd rather dislike EW's pitcher-batter interface (preferring Hardball I's) that I'd rather not use it for my ultimate goal: to play the Chicago Cubs (Go Cubbies!) and Chicago White Sox (Well, they do have a great team this year. The Oakland A's can go to You Know Where) as complete games, and play the rest of the games automatically (like TVSports:Football). I'd like the program to be able to compile stats for all players throughout the season (so I can see if Cecil Fielder is logically capable of hitting over 50 HRs; I tend to think not, but then again, baseball isn't a very rational sport). Perhaps this is a pipe dream request, but if something out there fits the bill (or if some software co. [EA, are you reading this?] might like to give this idea a go) please let me know via e-mail or whatever. Thank You, Paul W. Vicory
