[comp.sys.amiga.games] Speedball II: 3000 Compatible?

schur@isi.edu (Sean Schur) (04/23/91)

All right. I loved Speedball I. But I haven't been able to play it since
I bought my Amiga 3000 last summer. It won't run on the accelerated machine.
I've been going through Speedball withdrawl. So now there's all this
praise for Speedball II and how much better it is, etc. The real question
is: Does it run on the Amiga 3000? If so, my money is already spent.
If not, I'm going to have to sell my 3000 and try to buy back my 2000.

Unfortunately, it locks up on the A3000 after displaying some of the
opening screens.

The game has a "feature" that prevents it from working on the 68010 and
higher. Once removed, it stands a good chance of working on the 3000.
I have it working on my 2000 with 68010, from my hard disk no less...
(one giant 850K executable - loads in 2 seconds).

Please tell me what this "feature" is and how to remove it. I would love
to be able to play Speedball II on my 3000. Please, please please.
