[comp.sys.amiga.games] Bard's Tale III - Gelidia

*** Possible Spoilers Ahead ***

I need help in the Ice Keep in Gelidia. I have explored every square
on the level (I believe), and I am stuck. I have found the squares with
the four-legged three-eyed monster, the black wall, and the curtain, but
I don't know what to do at any of these spots. I have found the golem
that asks my name (addresses me as defender), but I don't know what to
type. And I have found the three magic circles and the marble block,
but can't figure out what to do. Anyone want to point me in the right
direction on this one? Thanks.

The spots with the monster, the curtain and the wall are the three magic wards,
spoken of in the diary in the house outside in Gelidia.
You have to pass these magic wards to enter the three towers of the ice keep.

The wards are build with a strong magic. So you can pass the magic by
casting the correct spells to undo the magic.
Each line like "Wolf to state hunger" is meant to be a spell. If you hit the
right one, it says your magic has been absorbed.

Solution ahead!

Northwest ward, leading to the Grey tower:
"Wolf to state hunger" ==> cast INWO
"A hero true, but not one at all" ==> cast WIHE
"Focus its attention" ==> cast FOFO
"but better not be seen at all" ==> cast INVI
--> The creature fades away into nothingness.
Northeast ward, leading to the White Tower:
"Lift the veil" ==> cast LEVI
"Then counter it" ==> cast ANMA
"False door frees, True door" ==> cast PHDO
--> The creature fades away into nothingness.
Southeast ward, leading to the Black Tower:
"Bright light" ==> cast MAFL
"Loud thunder" ==> cast SHSP
"Whispered terror term" ==> cast FEAR
"Flaming guide to lead the way" ==> cast SUEL
"Join the wall, then no one will be the wall" ==> cast SPBI
--> The creature fades away into nothingness.

Don't those messages sound like lists of spells. Now, if you could
figure out which ones...

>that asks my name (addresses me as defender), but I don't know what to

Ignore the second level (Ok, type hawkslayer, but there is nothing up
there)

>type. And I have found the three magic circles and the marble block,
