[comp.sys.amiga.games] Armour Geddon Demo

wdao@girtab.usc.edu (Walter Dao) (05/14/91)

In this month (or was it last month ?) issue of Amiga Action (a Brit. mag.),
there is a disk with a playable demo version of Armour Geddon. It even has a
small intro movie (amazing, comparable to the Killing Game Show intro movie).
The demo itself allows the player to use the different vehicles (tanks, planes,
hovercraft etc...)
what are the limitations of the demo ?
less weapons, less available options, and reset to the opening screen (with
the credit after a set time).
Anyway, I have got to tell that the animation on my humble 1meg fat agnus
(so accelerator) is quite something. It is not jerky . even better than
"interceptor".
The thing is that it is way complex. (carrier command pops to mind, hmmm.
well not as hard). (ELITE was a extremely simple but yet very playable
and enjoyable without millions of parameters to take care of).

Well it is complex at first, but I completed it in a few days.
It has some real nice features, but it is pretty poor graphically and
sonically. Kind of entertaining challenge, but once I destroyed
the enemy laser canon, I did not feel like playing it again.

-Roger
(it is not near as complex as it first appears)

Ah, what are you used to playing? I thought the graphics and sounds
were great! I have F19 and I used to think that was pretty good till
I got Armour Geddon! F19 has a few more details but not the range of
views and smoothness of the scrolling, if the two companies would get
together, wow!
