I have recently purchased a MaxxYoke for the Amiga to be used with the available flight simulators. The users guide contained a list of simulators which support the yoke and all our favorite simulators were on it. I now find out that the list pertained to the MS-Dos products and only Sublogic supports the Amiga yoke. I then find out FSII only supports the digital mode of the yoke (read usless). I called Sublogic about their support and they told me, "Yea we support the MaxxYoke. Analog mode? Our engineer say's he has never really hooked up a yoke to the Amigo!". Pretty pathetic! I drool over flying my collection of flight simulators with this yoke. It is really cool. (Tactile feedback, self centering, rudder pedal options...) I am preparing a letter to send to various companies in hopes of getting them to support this yoke in the analog mode. Am I the only Amigoid interested in this? I hope not. If you would like to see support of this device with your favorite flight simulator, drop me a line in E-mail and I will include your comments with my letters. The yoke cost me $60 which is more than a good joystick, but would be well worth it if it were supported. Would anyone else spend money for this yoke? davidh@swbatl.sbc.com Davidh

When I asked them about this product they were honest enough to tell me that the yoke was useless without comparible simulations. They told me that when the yoke first got on the market a few people snapped some of them up...and when the word got around about the gimick (I guess among the BBSs) sales dropped to zero at their store and now they can't give them away. I guess your stuck.

In reference to the MaxxYoke for the Amiga: The product is useless. Anyone who is considering the purchase of either the Yoke or the rudder pedals is advised to spend their money either on a good joystick or, better still, flight instruction. I make this statement for 2 reasons. The first is that the "tactile input" one receives from the yoke is completely unrealistic. I have never flown an aircraft that requires full control input to generate a slow roll. Furthermore the pitch input is ridiculously small. True, the yoke does offer 12 inches of movement fore and aft, but this is a fraction of a yoke's actual movement in most aircraft. The second reason I make the statement is because, quite frankly, the company lied. They claimed an "Analog input ability" that is in no-way utilized by any program. Indeed, even WITH programs that offer it, it will not be read. (I refer specifically to F-19, which offers an "ANALOG JOYSTICK" option. I was initially thrilled, but every attempt to use it resulted in the plane spinning out of control.) I have no desire to help support a business that cannot be honest to its customers. There is something else all prospective buyers should know. The so-called "ANALOG INPUT", even IF supported, will most likely adversely affect simulation speed in any but the fastest machines. Indeed, the new instrument procedures trainer ELITE (offered, unfortunately, only for IBM) costs $700.00 + because it includes HARDWARE TO MAKE ANALOG INPUT REALISTIC. In that company's words, software-based analog drivers are virtually useless. I hop my post will save someone some time and money. I payed $70.00 for MY yoke over a year ago, and it's been out of its box 3 times since that time. The company will not take the yoke back even for a partial refund, and I haven't the heart to sell it to some poor sap that doesn't know better. Thank you for your time.
