Help! ... Lemmings level 21 of mayhem (level 111 overall?) Title: With a Twist of Lemmings Supplies: 50 floaters, 1 climber, 1 basher, 1 digger, 4 builders (that's it) Save = 100% and you have about 5mins. and 50 lemmings to work with total. This is what the level looks like! ... ********* \ drop / ------ **** ************************* * * * * * * * (3) * * * * **** * * * (1) * * * * /\ * * * * * * / \ * * * * * * ___ / \ * **************** * * / \ mtn \ * * * *************** /home \ \* * * _/_______\ * * * _____ * * * * * * * _______ * * * * * (2) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * **************************************** (1) - too far to let lemmings just drop - they die... i.e. that's what the 50 floaters are for... I can build two bridges here to save them all, but then I have only two left to get home. If the home was hidden in the mountain to the left, it is possible to dig/bash and possibly get them all home safely... but I can't find the homethere, so I guess the one to the right is the only one. (2) - with only 4 bridges, once the drop down into the dirt (2) it's too low to get them back up and across the other post and to home (need about 2 bridges just to get to home from the last post ...) (3) - if this was lower, you could build 3 bridges, bash straight across and use the last bridge to home, but I'm always just a tiny bit below that mark, so they all far down into the dirt (2). any solutions would be appreciated... I just can't figure this one out. At least with school over, I can get back to more important things - like finishing lemmings! Thanks! Keep it at 1. 1B) Make the VERY FIRST Lemming out an Athlete. >If the home was hidden in the mountain to the left, it is possible to dig/bash >and possibly get them all home safely... but I can't find the homethere, so >I guess the one to the right is the only one. > Nope, you gets no luck there jack. The home on the right is the only home. >(2) - with only 4 bridges, once the drop down into the dirt (2) it's too low to >get them back up and across the other post and to home (need about 2 bridges >just to get to home from the last post ...) Don't worry about that. The first fella is gonna do almost ALL the work. 2A) Once you have made your first lemming climb, go back to floater and keep clicking on the lemmings that are falling out. Entertain yourself with this task until the athlete lemming reaches point A above. 2B) It would be best to pause the game by pressing 'P'. Then, change over to Digger (straight down) and position the cursor on the athlete. Unpause the game, click on him and pause the game again. 2C) Change back to floater, and keep clicking on the lemmings falling out until the loner fella digs his way through the slab and approaches point B above. 3) Pause the game again, change over to Builder, unpause and make the loner build from point B. Pause, go back to floater attributes, unpause and start clicking on the lemmings falling out until our loner hero reaches point C. 4) Pause, go to builder, unpause and make our hero build from Point C. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you make him build so that when he reaches point C2, he will TURN AROUND after he's through building the bridge. So it would be wise to let him walk as close to the ledge as possible at point C as possible before making him a builder. Him and the other 49 fellas will be able to negotiate the little step up at point C2 if you time it right. 5) Pause, go to floater, and keep clicking on the fellas as they fall in until our hero finishes building up to C2, turns around and walks toward point D. 6) Once the lemming has reached point D, pause the game, change over to builder and make him build. There might be a problem with him hitting his head on the bridge he just created. But it's not impossible. If he does hit his head and give up, you must nuke the level. 7) Pause, back to floater, unpause, keep clicking on fellow lemmings until our hero reaches point E. (you can do it a little before, I remember the first block hung lower than the second. 8) Pause, back to builder, unpause, make him build into the wall. 9) The next step is just a matter of luck: Once our hero has built into the wall retired for home, you must use the one digger at Point F to let all the other fellas out. There's probably thirty or forty in there by now, so it's all a matter of luck. And you also have to watch out for the fellas that are still falling out of the trapdoor. If you do it just right, he'll dig through the wall till he reaches the gap, the other fellas will fall onto the bridge that the first lemming made, and the whole glob of them will just truck on throo. YOu will have to use any remaining floater attributes on the few stragglers. WHEWWW!! Damn that was long! But I'd rather be thorough than brief. The reason I say "Pause, do something, unpause, etc. etc." is because even with the release rate at 1, you can be concentrating on one lemming and 3-4 others are dying because you forgot you had to concentrate on them, too. Hope this helpz...if it doesn't email me. Oh yeah, you can change Lemming Attributes with the arrow keys. >any solutions would be appreciated... I just can't figure this one out. Right, they all must be turned to floaters. The way I solved it was for the first lemming to be an athelete (floater/climber), tunnel down to the pillars, fix some bridges up to save the rest (A,B,and C in the picture)... and then let out the rest by having them tunnel (this was sort of hard as they got all bunched up an I kept digging the wrong way.) I've labeled the picture (as best I could with ASCII) with the way I did it... > any solutions would be appreciated... I just can't figure this one out.
