[comp.sys.amiga.games] dm end

dand@oxy.edu (Daniel D. Fineman) (06/08/91)

I enjoyed DM, and I thought it was one of the most
flawless games I have seen. Still, I am a little
bugged by the end. It was so boring that I could
not believe that was it. I thought: "I've killed
a zillion monsters, solved a ton of puzzles, changed
my party from wimps to gods, and all I get is this
happy old fart?"

p.s. Has anyone translated the inscription over the
front entrance?

Well, I know one flaw: it WON'T RUN on my Amiga!! Can anybody
help?

I have an A1000 with a 2 MB Starboard II and a C.Ltd. hard drive.
When I boot DM, the game starts up fine, but it hangs (mouse pointer
freezes) after about 5 minutes of play. Even if I just boot the game
and let the computer sit there for 5 minutes, it hangs.

I discussed this problem with FTL (the authors) about a year ago,
and they were never able to help. They sent me several upgrades (versions
2.0, 2.1, 2.2), but none of them fixed the problem. FTL eventually gave
up, saying that mine was the only Amiga in existence that had this problem.

I tried modifying DM with the hard-disk-install patch on ab20,
but that didn't solve the problem either.

Yes, this is an original disk, and not a copy. I run KS 1.3.

Can anybody help? I would *love* to play DM.

                                                        Dan
