chuq@Apple.COM (Smile when you say that) (08/02/90)
I have recently had a few people ask me why comp.sys.mac.announce has been so quiet. Since this is something that warrants a comment in public, I'm answering it here. Nobody is posting to it. I can't post articles that aren't sent to me. (actually, that is not quite true. I've rejected two inappropriate messages in the last six weeks. Effectively, though, it's not being utilized). I personally would rather see silence than garbage in the group, but I think it could be better utilized. I can't help you folks use it unless you start sending material, however. On another front, I would like to suggest that we take the next step in setting up a permanent comp.sys.mac.announce moderatorship. Werner has been acting as point man in putting toegether a moderation team for c.s.m.a. I would like to request that now that the reorganization is complete (except for this detail -- the rmgroup for comp.sys.mac just went out) I step completely out of the picture and that Werner be designated as it. Um, as moderator. He can then put in place the system he's been working on. If you have problems with this change, please let me know. Assuming I don't hear screams of anguish, I'll teach Werner the secret handshake and start my long-awaited retirement from dealing with usenet stuff. chuq -- Chuq Von Rospach <+> chuq@apple.com <+> [This is myself speaking] We tend to idealize tolerance, then wonder why we find ourselves infested with losers and nut cases -- Patrick Nielsen Hayden
