I would like to hear from anyone who is familiar with, or has used, the ACR-NEMA format for archiving or manipulating images obtained from CT or MRI scanners. I need to know this information as I am contemplating establishing a medical image archive or newsgroup, and have received suggestions that this may be an appropriate format. I have not yet been able to get hold of a copy of the standard from NEMA in Washington DC, and would appreciate any details of the image representation format (I am not interested in the communication layers of the standard, nor the electrical interface). I have already been referred to the archive of file formats at rice but they only had NENA's address. I have read the article in Feb 1988's Radiology. Any information would be much appreciated.
