I have been combing ftp sites in search of a halfway decent MacPaint type program for my AT clone with Hercules graphics. I finally found one that was well designed, worked with my graphics card, needed no mouse (I don't have one)... but one of my goals in finding such a program was so I could digitize photographs (my university has a digitizer that students may use for free, with .GIF output) and read them in/modify them. In addition, I would also like to save my graphics to a standard format file so that the images could be imported into other programs. Unfortunately, the program I found uses a totally nonstandard (as far as I can tell) format, so it's pretty much useless in these respects. The name of the program is Finger Paint, and I anonymously ftp'ed it from terminator.cc.umich.edu, directory msdos/graphics/paint_progs, file named paint.arc. Sample pictures are included in the arc file. Can anyone out there let me know what kind of format this is, and if any converters that support this format exist? Or how to write my own coverter? Or, failing that, where I might find a drawing program, in the genre of MacPaint, for my AT that requires no mouse and runs with Hercules or CGA graphics using standard (such as .GIF) picture file formats? (Note -- I am aware of the rather extensive KD-DRAW package which runs on a CGA-equipped machine. As I have only a Hercules card, I tried using it with SIMCGA, a CGA emulator, but it didn't work.) Any advice and/or information is greatly appreciated. ---|\-#-/_|-------/|-------,*.----||---Norman Lin, University of Oklahoma---- ---|/-----|------/-|---,"--|---,"-||------norlin@uokmax.ecn.uoknor.edu------- --/|------------/-*'---|/------|--||-----(IP addr: 129.15.[20|22|24].2)------ -|/|\---/_|-----|-----------------||-"I gazed in your eyes, and saw the moon- --\|/-----|----*'-----------------||------------and the skies"---------------
