[comp.robotics] Parts suppliers

mkb@rover.ri.cmu.edu (Mike Blackwell) (06/02/90)

Someone asked awhile ago where to buy parts for constructing robots. Here
are two of my favorites, I'd like to hear about others.

Herbach & Rademan
401 E. Erie Ave.
Philadelphia, PA, 19134-1187
215-426-1708, 800-848-8001
A good surplus place with lots of motors of various shapes and sizes, and
assorted electrical and mechanical stuff. They put out a monthly catalog
- you should get on their mailing list if you build anything.

Small Parts Inc.
P.O. Box 381966
Miami, FL, 33238-1966
Catalog: 305-759-5143
Bearings, pullies, gears, sprockets, belts, nuts & bolts, etc. Every
possible mechanical item you might need, they probably have. If not, they
can make it for you. Good stuff!

                The Robotics Institute, CMU
                Pittsburgh, PA, 15213
