Robo-SOG '90 Robo-SOG '90 is a technical conference geared for the professional and technical hobbyist interested in robotics, microcontrollers, and computing in general. It takes place August 9-12 at the Applied Technology Center in Everett, WA. Advance registration is encouraged; details are available at the address/phone number below. The SOGs, or Semi-Official Get-together, started years ago as a technical gathering sponsored by Micro Cornucopia magazine. Though Micro-C is (sadly) no longer with us, Robo-SOG (and the other regional SOGs) will still provide the relaxed, high-tech atmosphere that has become the SOG trademark. Scheduled speakers include many names associated with Micro Cornucopia. Dave Thompson, editor of Micro-C, and Bob Nansel, developer of the Limbo robot, will describe their latest projects. Karl Lunt, a frequent contributor to Micro-C, will discuss his current work with microcontrollers. Robo-SOG is also a family event. We have planned activities for all age groups, to run in parallel with the technical sessions. The information packet describes alternate activities such as quilting and origami classes, a robot-building contest for the kids, bus-tours of Seattle, and more. Whether you come for the technical sessions, the Pacific Northwest scenery, the Jolt SIGs, the chance to meet new friends (and renew old friendships), or simply to enjoy the unique brand of energy that has become a SOG tradition, plan to attend Robo-SOG '90. We look forward to meeting you! Robo-SOG contact: Michael Thyng 11036 40th N.E.
