[comp.robotics] Request for Information on Robotics Simulation Shells

I would appreciate it if anyone could direct my attention to shells that
support robot design specification and simulation.  In particular any shells
that allow the specification of:
  operational environment
  robot's environmental representation
  sensor complement
  effector complement
  behavioral characteristics

Graphical support for:  
  parts interface,
  internal communication structure,
  major internal wiring commonents,
  3-space movement,
  sensor coverage in 3-space
is desirable.

Design instantiation from parts database is desirable.
