It has come to our knowledge that there is a competition somewhere in the
world where the ping-pong (table tennis) skills of robots are put to the
limit. Is there anyone out there who happens to know anything about it? Any
information such as limitations of the robots, playing strength of past
competitors, additional rules to ordinary ping-pong, where the competition
is taking place etc would be most appreciated.

The robotics club at CMU used to have a project to build a robot for the competition. I don't remember much about it, something like a 2'x4' table. If you can see cmu.robotics at your site, look there. -jla-
