[comp.robotics] Single point laser rangefinders

I am interested in finding a rangefinder with the following
characteristics:

	o Working range 10 - 100 feet
	o Accuracy of 1 inch
	o Point and shoot, i.e. point it somewhere and give me the range
	o Preferably laser based
	o Passive, i.e. does not depend on cornercubes or reflective tape
	o Computer interface (RS232, etc.)

I have found one made by Cubic Precision ("Red Dot"), but the lead time in
obtaining one is 9 months. Anyone have any other suggestions. Please reply
