Does anyone have any info on different types of sensors I might be able to use to detect objects. (ie infrared, microwave,...) I'm currently working with polaroid sonar sensors on a mobile robots for detection of objects. The dispersion cone and slow response time of the sonar sensors has made us seek a better alternative. Our range of sensing is about 20 ft. We have heard of a few infrared sensors that have a range we might be able to use but, no names of who makes them.
