The UP train was all express reefers - I don't recall any mention in the film on whether the train was loaded or not. In the N&W's film "The Modern Coal Burning Steam Locomotive", there is no mention of its long train, but a check through Guiness does indeed verify their train. The N&W film is a real PR job, featuring sped-up playback to get that extra 30-40 mph. The film itself is the story of the building and later operation of J 4-8-4 number 602.
