Hi all: First let me say that this is my first posting to this facility so if I have posted to the wrong group, my apologies. Here's my problem. We live on a very active network. I have 5 Mac II users who want to and run X-windows with our SparcServer and talk via TCP to our Crays. The person before me purchased Excelan boards, Kinetics HostAccess and White Pine eXodus to meet our needs. We have installed all software and hard- ware and all was fine for a SHORT time. All of a sudden the MAC(s) would die for no explained reason. No errors, no last gasp, nothing .. Everything would be frozen. At first we thought it was the board and switched over to buildin and again the user would die. We then switched to NCSA Telnet and for a short time the MAC worked, but not for long. I think the thing is learning how to die. ANYWAYS.. I am REALLY NEW to all of this and was wondering if some guru can point me in the right direction for trying to solve this problem. Has anyone had similar experiences.. What did you do..?? Has anyone successfully used the combination of Execlan, HostAccess and eXodus .. Please write... Please reply to me directly an I will post if there is a interest. Thanks
