Lately I have noticed some problems with MacLayers and QuicKeys, that I would like someone to verify before I call this a problem. My QuicKeys is not maxed out with macros, it is not locked, it is fully functional (apparantly at least). I always like to lower the speaker volume using "AT L1", I know MacLayers has the option to turn it off totally. Also since our school has multiple dial-in lines, and at times I need to use different numbers for other BBS's and online services, I like to define the numbers as Define-Text in QuicKeys. Eventhough this works for all the other communication programs I have tried, for some reason QuicKeys does not like to save the setup. It works fine right after I define it but if I reopen QuicKeys it does not show me anything under MacLayers. I have tried this three times, and it still did not work for me. Now if someone else could verify this for me, then we might let the authors of MacLayers know about this. Also, I read earlier that people were having trouble saving their setup under MacLayers. The work around to this is to startup Layers, set all the settings and quit. Layers will ask if you would like to save your text and settings. So far so good. But I noticed some problems, which I tend to call a bug in Layers. After each session, layers sayes ALL!! the text with it. Next time I start it, I see the text from my previous session. So, before quitting Layers, I use CMND+K to clear the screen, and this gives me a blank screen next time. Maybe someone else would verify this as well. This is not exactly a desireable feature. Hope to hear soon. Haseen. e-mail: halam1@ub.d.umn.edu halam@umnd-cpe-cola.d.umn.edu
