Has anyone succeeded in running MacTCP without a domain name server, i.e., by caching addresses from the Hosts file? According to Apple's docs, this ought to work. But it doesn't appear to in my experiments (both localtalk and ethertalk). Am I missing something non-obvious in the apparently simple syntax of the MacTCP Hosts file? Ron Nash nash@csli.stanford.edu
