I am new to both netnews and Mac telecommunications and am in need of answers to a few questions. The clearing house bit in the summary means that I will be willing to compile and pass along the answers to the questions. So, if you have a similar question, send it to me and I will forward the info to you. My situation: I am using a Prometheus ProModem 2400G and MAcKNOWLEDGE 1.02a software (which, by the way, is pretty nifty). I have BinHex 5.0 and the stuffit set. If necessary I will be willing to get other software (hopefully shareware - poor student (:-) ) For unix, I have an account with att. Ok. Now for the fun part --> a) Are there any local mac BBSs in central NJ (South River, New Brunswick)? Also, any reccomendations on CompuServe vs. GEnie, etc.??? b) What is the procedure for ftp'ing from SUMEX? And what other systems have good stuff for the mac? c) how do i transfer text files from my unix account to the mac (I need detailed instructions). Thanx Please e-mail any answers to me. Michael A.
