According to the Canadian Railway Historical Association, VIA Rail Canada has placed their two EMD E8's up for disposal. These used to be CPR 1801 and 1802 and are the only two E8's in Canada - to my knowledge. There are no plans to preserve one of these locomotives because they are not "typical". I however think one should be kept because up here they are unique so are there any suggestions on how to prevent the demise of a locomotive?? Richard Loken
