Since there was so much interest in UMCP Tools when I originally brought it up on c.s.m.c and when I posted it to the various archives, I thought I'd let people know that the author, Tom Clodfelter of Information Electronics, has released an updated version. The new version, 1.0.1, corrects a couple of small bugs in the uudecode routine of the program. For those who HAVEN'T yet heard about it, UMCP Tools is a free utility from Information Electronics, the same people who bring mail forwarding and UUCP capability to QuickMail (with QMConcierge, and UMCP\QM, respectively), that offers uuencode and uudecode capability, MacBin conversion, and text format conversion between UNIX and Mac text file formats. I will be posting the new version to the public ftp archives at sumex-aim.stanford.edu and rascal.ics.utexas.edu probably tomorrow. It will also be available at an ftp archive in Australia, for users there (I've been unsuccessful in sending mail to solution@syd.dit.csiro.au with this info - sorry, William!). If you just can't wait, you can get it from Memory Alpha BBS, at 607-257-5822 (2400 baud, N-8-1, 24 hrs.). -- Mark H.
