If you are in the Southern California area for the Olympics (or any other reason) why not visit the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, CA. It is off of I-15E not too far from Riverside (about 90 mi from either LA or San Diego). OERM has operating equipment from the Los Angeles Railway (LARy) and Pacific Electric (PE) systems that vistors can ride as well as cars from San Francisco, New Orleans, and Kyoto, Japan. The museum also has operating mainline equipmment including several Alco and GE diesel locomotives, that visitors can ride. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year as well as during Christmas and Easter weeks. Bill Mitchell (whuxl!wjm)
