[comp.sys.mac.comm] Singleshare

djd@scgrp.UUCP (David Dmytryshyn) (07/28/90)

I've been trying like heck to get singleshare to work, but with little
success. The hardware consists of a plus, SE and a IIcx, with the only
hard-drives on the SE and cx. All have system 6.05, and I've tried it
with both AppleShare v1.xx and v2.02. Is there some magical
incantation I might have missed? Everytime I go to choose the server,
I get an alert telling me that some resources were not loaded, and to
try booting off an AppleShare client disk (which I don't have).

Thanks..

Got a little mixed up here... The problem with system 6.05
installations was that after choosing the server and the disk/folder,
I get a dialog which says something to the effect of: "This disk needs
repairs, repair?", to which I respond yes (or no, it doesn't matter)
and the disk never shows up.

David..

Do you have Desktop Manager installed? I was having this same problem before
because I had forgotten to install DM on my server. If you need a copy, I
believe it is bundled with the AppleShare server software, but I don't know
of any other sources. Hope this helps.
