[comp.sys.mac.comm] Mac Ethernet cards

Does a program exist, or can it easily be written, to simply read out and
display a Mac's 6-digit hexadecimal Ethernet card number?  NCSA Telnet does
this if configured correctly, but it's very quirky; MacEnvy doesn't seem to.
