As a fairly new user of a Mac, I have been having a few problems when attempting to dial in from home to work. I have an SE/30 with a Hayes-compatible 2400 baud modem. I have access to MacKnowledge, zterm, and uw. I am logining into a Berkeley UNIX system. I don't really have problems logining into the system. However, when I go to use 'vi', the position of the cursor on the screen and the position 'vi' thinks it is in do not coincide (with zterm (I think) it is a off-by-one error. If I try to delete from line n to n+6, the result is a deletion from n-1 to n+5). Does anyone know the 'correct terminal type on the Mac'/'TERMCAP entry for Berkeley UNIX' combination to allow me to 'vi' with no problems. 'uw' is nice for windowing, but it doesn't have any dialer scripts, screen scrolling, or screen printing capabilities which I would find useful from time to time. Please e-mail your responses to me. I will post if there is enough interest. Thanks, Dave
